This is the start of a two part tutorial. This part covers off observations you need to make before you really start tackling realism.

Please keep in mind going into this, I'm putting this together because I've been asked repeatedly. I am no expert on realism, I like semi realism but if I could draw photo realistic images, I'd tooooootally be doing that.

The second part is all about putting pencil to paper and actually drawing it. I've completed the drawing itself, taken photos of the process and now just have to put it together.

It is and it's not fair. They have magic pills for everything else but making drawing easier and cooler. Gah!

Thank. You. I always mess up realistic faces. Objects and animals and bodies are usually looking quite right, but when you have to draw a face it's sooo precise. But I'll practice a lot ;)

My pleasure, and have faith in yourself, it just takes a lot of practise. If you truly want to, take an art class that specifically teaches realism. You'll get there, just don't ever allow yourself to be confined to boundaries, especially ones you set on yourself. That is the most dangerous thing you can do.
