Working on a commission

Thu Apr 16, 2009, 7:51 PM
Actually am doing a commission! A colour one so it'll be a bit.
No details on it though, sorry.
It will be posted but with a heavy watermark probably and only after the client has had it for a while.
I'm also getting a new scanner this week. Two are somewhat related.

Having a bad time with technology lately though. First the scanner went, then the computer, now my camera...WTF????

Not sure how much drawing I'm going to get done in the next while other than stuff which is paid, sorry. We'll see how it goes. Working full time, having a husband and a five year old, being 5 1/2 months pregnant and sleepy all the time and writing a book are cutting into my drawing time.

Anyway, speaking of sleepy, I have to go to bed.

  • Listening to: The humminng of the computer
  • Reading: Nothing
  • Watching: cars go by on the street outside
  • Drinking: Vitao Fuji Apple Green Tea

Scanner, computer and camera? Really bad time... Take your time with drawings ^-^ I can only imagine it must be quite difficult to look after a child, be pregnant and work O_O

YAY!! You're alive! :glomp:

I was thinking about you just the other day, and I was wondering how you've been doing recently! :aww:

Sorry to hear about all the technological pitfalls, though! That stinks, but I'm glad to hear that things are pulling back together for you a bit. I can't wait to see the commission when you're done with it -- I'm very excited! :D

Now go get some sleep, you -- Mommies need their rest. ;P

Much love!

whee, haven't heard from you in a while^_^

technology can be a bitch at times, but unfortunately we need it a lot.

Ohh you're writing a book! How cool, can you tell me what's it about? How's the pregnancy going? Not sick anymore right?

Get some rest!

I'm not sick anymore but the baby is still playing with my heart, so now I'm seeing a cardiologist. I've have a few ECG's and wore a holter monitor for 24 hours, now I'm waiting for monday to actually see the cardiologist.

Technology bites, especially lately! BAH! I'm still writing this book because the whole thing was lost to a mass technology failure (computer and back up disk were kaput).

The book I'm writing, has the tag line "The fate of the world resides in the hands of one man and one woman, who want to kill each other."

Its a vampire/hunter novel. The woman is a hunter with a "black ops internal security force" and the man is the most powerful vampire to ever exist, a man considered to be a god (I did a pic on here, his name is Michael).

The book is fairly dark, this ain't no love story and ain't no Twilight. ;) To use bad English to describe it.

Other than that though, I'm not going to get into too much detail. The plot has taken a lot of work and is complex. One character in it is very significant and is so hard to write because he's so dark and a genius (and slightly crazy). (I love writing this character but he exhausts me).

Despite all the darkness I do keep the vampires in the "sensuous" category. The character above is designed to make the reader twitch because of how evil he is, but he's also supposed to make the female reader question themselves about why he's so damned attractive.

I have fun with it! Writing is by far my first love (If you don't count people in there.)

Its good to know I'm missed!
I'm having fun with this commission, though I'm doing a bit at a time to make sure I do it right.
Sometimes everything looks great at 4am...and then doesn't in the morning.
Besides, I can't the first draft out until I get my new scanner anyway.

I'm still popping on and checking things here but I haven't had much time for pretty much anything lately. My house looks like a mess bomb blew up right in the middle of it.

It's carnage I tells you!

Of course you're missed! I haven't spoken to you in, like, FOREVER!! I miss our conversations! :ohnoes:

I know that feeling. It's why I've gotten in the habit of leaving a sketchbook open on the working page for days at a time so I can glance at it, see something to fix, fix it, and walk away. It's more time that way, but I can't really argue with the results...

Oh, carnage -- that will be something to compare notes on later. My sister is moving back home with her son first weekend in May...that will make seven people in a house built for maybe three... :paranoid:

I'll let you know how well that goes... ^^;

:icontale-spinner-gypsy:
I think it's for that reason why I'm going to make as many efforts to get out as possible... ^^;

But, it won't last for long -- just long enough for my sister to find a place of her own...

I hope you'll be feeling better soon!

And losing all that*__* gosh.

Man, the book sound VERY interesting!

Found the drawing, it looks amazing! Good luck writing^_^.
