Today was insane! The expo had thought they were going to reach 50,000 total. They reached 50,000 people by 1:00pm! The Fire Marshall actually had to close down admissions for a little while because it got over capacity. It was INSANE!!! if you think about it, the expo was 30,000 people last year, and hit over twice that by halfway through day 2. I feel sorry for the volunteers, I really do. How they hell were they supposed to know it would get this insane. My husband was one of those volunteers, and he was exhausted. Several of my friends were volunteers and they were exhausted. Nothing they could do, but they were getting yelled at.
When doors opened, it was funny to literally watch people RUN down the hall toward the autograph section!
It was a good day for me, although I had a few boring times at the table. That's the problem with having a niche market when 75% of the people there are guys, and that's exactly who DOESN'T buy your stuff.
Still, I have the best booth ever. The best comments get made with regarding my art!
Anyway, I'm exhausted. I'm looking forward to tomorrow both because this is a blast, AND because, it's the last day!
WHEW!

A little extra patience (though I'm sure it was annoying), would have seen everyone in on Saturday.
I feel bad for everyone involved but some people are blowing it way out of proportion.
(I felt so bad for the volunteers too. They had it rough with all the angry hordes. They certainly couldn't have known it would get so crazy, but the expo should have, considering the TGN cast, and they should have equipped the volunteers far better than they did.)
